About Waltonwood
Hey I'm Gabby, I worked at Waltonwood on Main and loved getting the opportunity from this class to go work there.
what I doA typical day at work consisted of me making me sure my section is set up completely. Then I would go take the residents order on our fancy tablets, after they ordered I'd bring them food and assist them with anything they needed. Later when dinner was finished I'd buss my entire section and complete my nightly clean-up job. |
After high school I will be attending Ferris State University studying forensic science. I will also be playing soccer on the women's team at the university. Hopefully with all the insightful things I've learned at Waltonwood I will become very successful in the future.
What I Learned
Throughout my time working at Waltonwood I learned how to be patient. Not only with the residents but with my co-workers as well. Waiting on the residents to order their food was very time consuming and sometimes aggravating. However, I never let my attitude get the best of me and stayed relaxed and composed. This is a huge thing for me considering I'm always so quick to snap but I became a better person working here.

Suprises
While working at Waltonwood I was surprised to know how much everyone was a family. Every co-worker from every department helped out in anyway they could. Typically we we're short staffed in the kitchen so care staff would often take an extra tasks and help deliver room trays when we had no time.

Changes
To be honest I'd make no changes for my work facility, this is an awesome job for anyone just starting to work. The management here is great and easy going. If you're involved in sports or other after school activities she will accommodate anything you tell her. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a good time at work.
